Sarah June Teeter Bickham

Sarah June Teeter Bickham “June Bug”, passed away peacefully March 10, 2017 at Beechtree in Ithaca at the age of 87.

Born April 2, 1929, June was a daughter of the late Peter & Julia Teeter.  A lifelong area resident, June work several years at NCR in Ithaca, but her passion was caring for children, and she spent most of her years caring for the youngsters of many local families.  June had a heart that loved beyond words., and she had a knack for making lemonade out of the lemons in life.  June was a strong, giving woman who loved the bible and was faithful in the Lord.  She also enjoyed stock car racing, Harley riding and she loved her “Jeffy”.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Thompson; and sons, Alfred “Buddy” Stage and Raymond Poyer.

She is survived by a sister, Fran Trainer; brother, Leo Teeter (Bobbi); children, Nancy McKittrick (Jack), Peter Stage (Pat), Karen Fairley, Russ Poyer and Kenny Clute (Barb); brother-in-law, Wendy Thompson; daughters-in-law, Susan Poyer and Susan Stage; several grandchildren, great grandchildrem, nieces, nephews and friends, especially her beloved friends & caretakers, Jeff & Debbie Lovejoy and Donald & Kathy Lovejoy-Garrison.  “We love you Momma, rest in peace.”

June’s family and friends would like to express their gratitude to the amazing nurses and aides for the wonderful care they provided during her stay at Beechtree.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Leonard,will be held at 3pm, Thursday, March 16th at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.  Burial at Lansingville Cemetery will be delayed until spring.
