Rose M. Beyeler Boles Sutphin

Rose Marie Beyeler Boles Sutphin, 97, of Lansing died Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Groton Nursing Care Facility.  Born in Pine Island, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Schlaeppi Beyeler.  Her family moved from MN to a farm in West Dryden in 1919.  Rose graduated from Ludlowville High School in 1937, married Raymond W. Boles in September of that year, and raised seven children; Raymond “Stub” Boles, Willie Boles (deceased), Walter Boles, Elizabeth “Sissy” Fenner (Newell), Clarence “Jim” Boles (Carol), Kathy Elser (Albert), and Mary Boles and Opie.   Rose was remarried in 1968 to Paul N. Sutphin.   She was employed at Chris n Green’s Restaurant in Lansing, where she spent many fun filled years with the Fred Christopher family and the many customers who loved “Rosie”.  She also spent many Saturdays clerking at the Boles’ Auctions and over 25 years running yard sales from her home.

In addition to her children, Rose is survived by a brother, Fred Beyeler in CO; many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.  Rose enjoyed spending time with her dearest friends, Gloria Christopher, Cleen, Rosie Teeter, Jerry Sutphin, Rev. Fran Sampson, and her caregivers, Paula Nelson, Frankie Baker, Verla Burke, and granddaughters, Sierra Boles and Sherri Hildreth.  Rose was fortunate to have so many wonderful friends and neighbors. Along with her parents, and son, Willie, Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, Ida Dates, Robert, Arnold, Walter, Bertha, Helen and John Beyeler; and  grandson, Randy Boles.

Family will receive friends from 4-7pm, Tuesday, November 10th at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.  A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Fran Sampson, will be held at 11am, Wednesday, November 11th at the funeral home, followed by burial at West Genoa Cemetery in King Ferry.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Cops, Kids & Toys, 836 Hanshaw Rd., or Foodnet Meals on Wheels, 2422 N.
