Roger A. VanPelt, age 62 of North Lansing, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 8, 2018 after a 5 year courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 10, 1955, in Cortland, Roger was a son of the late Harold and Nancy Dedrick VanPelt. He grew up in the Dryden area and was a Dryden High School graduate. Roger was a dedicated US Postal Service rural mail carrier for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Maybury and Betty Seamons.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Deborah Swayze VanPelt; their daughters, Kimberly Skrzypczak (Eric) of CT and Alicia Bingham (John) of VA; grandchildren, Owen & Carter Skrzypczak and Rosemary Bingham; his siblings, Richard VanPelt (Sandy), Warren VanPelt, Wayne VanPelt (Joan) & Shirley Price; as well as a large extended family.
Family will be present to receive friends from 4 â 6 pm, Friday, April 13th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, April 14th at the funeral home, followed by burial at North Lansing Cemetery.
