Robert C. Roe, 77, of Danby, NY, passed away on April 28, 2024 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY, while surrounded by family. Bob, as most knew him, was born in Ithaca on November 16, 1946 to the late Earl and Erma (Davenport) Roe.
Bob earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University, and also spent time training in England. He was a lecturer in graduate studies at SUNY Cortland, where he touched the lives of many and was proud to “teach teachers to be teachers.” Bob also educated young hunters as the county coordinator for bowhunter education through the NYSDEC and he was known for his kindness and big heart. In his free time, Bob had a passion for hunting, history, and golf.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Owens-Roe; children, Rebekah Sutton and Nicole (Fuzz) Ball; grandson, Haiden Ball; twin sister, Janet Scalia; numerous Davenport cousins; and close friends, Bruce Boda and Gary Argetsinger. He also leaves two beloved black labs, Maggie and Bella, whom he adored.
