Robert (Bob) Dolan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully August 5, 2015, spending his last hours with his family.

Bob was born in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY, on April 5, 1931, to Lawrence and Veronica Dolan, the sixth of eight children. Bob lost his mother at the age of 4. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and remained in the Army Reserves for 20+ years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. Upon his return from Panama, Bob met and soon married Josephine Elizabeth Quigley in May, 1954. In 1952, Bob began working at what would become The Eastman Kodak Company for a career lasting 36 years ending with his retirement at the age of 56.

Bob valued his Roman Catholic faith deeply and was a dedicated church and community volunteer. Bob participated in activities including: Republican Committee in Chili, NY; the Aching Arms Committee and ushering at St. Pius X Church; volunteering? at Lansing Middle School, planning and building the Lighthouse at Myers Point, helping seniors with computers at Lifelong.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Josephine “Jo”, their 6 children, Robert (Pamela) of Rochester, Kenneth (Kerry) of Honeoye Falls, Kathleen Wray (Rick) of Ithaca, Michael (Holly) of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Paglianite (Frank) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Joan Bracaglia (Giorgio) of Honeoye Falls, 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Bob’s legacy is marked by his quick wit, his honesty, his family, and his interest in trains. Bob was happiest when working with his model trains and planes in his workshop. Bob was the consummate handyman. He was able to fix anything and build most everything, from transmissions to appliances to furniture. Bob was always willing to lend a hand and did not stand by when there was a need.

A memorial mass will be held at 10am, August 10, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Ithaca, NY. Interment will follow at Sampson Veterans’ Cemetery in Romulus, NY.
