Nora L. Vallely, age 85 of Lansing, passed away peacefully at Oak Hill Manor on February 10, 2018.
Born May 27, 1932 in Bennettsburg, NY, Nora was a daughter of the late Francis and Sarah Ayers VanDuzer. Nora grew up in the Schuyler County area and in North Syracuse, graduating from North Syracuse High School. She then moved to Ithaca and shared an apartment with her sister, June, and worked at Loblawâs, where she met Frank Vallely. They later married and moved to Lansing to raise their family. Nora continued to work full time, raise a family, and remained a true homemaker. She and Frank grew quite a large vegetable garden, and she canned everything they grew. Nora also enjoyed bowling, yard sales, and in her later years, embroidering.
In addition to her parents, Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Francis âFrankâ Vallely, a sister, June Baker and a brother Charles VanDuzer.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Vallely (Mary) of Dryden, Sean Vallely (Teri) of Erin, Honora Vallely (Ken Conklin) of Slaterville and Bridget Kentch (Jeff) of Virgil; grandchildren, Erin, Quinn, Timothy and Daisy Vallely; and extended family.
Family will be present to receive friends from 5-7pm, Thursday, February 15th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.
A Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Daniel Ruiz-Sierra, will be held at 1pm, Friday, February 16th, All Saints Church, 347 Ridge Rd., Lansing, NY, followed by burial at North Lansing Cemetery.
