Nancy H. Vallely

Nancy Helena Vallely, 81, of Ithaca, NY passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. Born in Elmira, NY on October 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lester Dee and Marjorie Louise (McGill) McConnell.

Nancy spent much of her life in Hawaii and truly embraced the culture and Aloha Spirit. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hawaii and held many jobs in the human resources field during her time there. She was also a merchant marine and worked as a purser for American Hawaii Cruises and paddled canoe for the Lokahi Canoe Club. She was adventurous and loved trying new activities. In her later years, she moved to Ithaca to be closer to family and retired from Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY as their Human Resources Director. With many friends and family, Nancy's life was well lived.

Nancy is survived by her children, Mark Vallely (Jane Miller), Dan Vallely, and Mary Stanion (Paul); grandchildren, Rachel and Amber “AJ”; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Jan McLaughlin, Jerry McConnell, and Jack McConnell.
