Mike, age 57, from Merritt Island, Florida passed away in Ithaca, New York, at a friend’s home on May 8, 2019.
Mike loved the beach and surfing… the carefree life is what gave Mike peace. He always enjoyed the simple things, and he treasured all the little things. Mike will be forever remembered for his unending love for “T” his one true love; for the sand between his toes, for the salt on his body after surfing; for the serenity found in the pictures he would take mostly of water (I think our brother would have loved being a porpoise if it was possible); for his strong opinions, and for his passion in what he felt was right. Mike’s friends have said that he was friendly, genuine, he joked a lot to lift their spirits, and he would give them his last bit of cash if they needed it! We, Mike’s siblings, love and miss him already, and there are so many awesome memories of our brother and so many great times that there is not enough room here. We are so happy he is hanging out with Mom and T! Mike’s nephew Matt says: He was that chill uncle, who would give you the shirt off his back, and then ask if you want to go surfing; he would always listen to his problems and just empathize, probably because he’d been there already a time or two. He says his uncle Mike had an infectious laugh, a hilarious sense of humor; that he was a Child at heart and loved like one, with no strings, once you were in, you were in.
Mike is survived by his Dad Joe Blair; his Brother Billy, his wife Kym, children Amanda, Codi, and Charlie; sisters and their families: Tammie her son Matt, his wife Joanna, sons Aidan, and Jude, Daughter Tara, her husband Jordan children Isaiah and Lizzy; Shelly and Tonya; Kari her husband Marty children Kolby, his wife Priscilla, Kyle, and Karissa; Bobbie, her husband Todd, daughter Alex, her husband Patrick, and daughter Taylor; and many friends.
