Ithaca, NY
Margie departed from us on February 7, 2012. Having been born to Esther and Frank Drumm in Longford, Kansas on December 26, 1934, she was early endowed with a love of the earth and a sense of caring for those in need. Whether it be marching against the dangers of nuclear power, or standing up for peace, or promoting social justice, she lived her life for others. Although always faithful to her principles, she never used them to belittle or diminish people of contrary opinions.
She will be sorely missed by her Ithaca Friends, by her fellow Yogi practitioners, by her fellow riders and staff at OAR, by those fighting for fair and livable wages at the Workers Center, and by all who were privileged to know her.
Margie leaves behind her husband Jim; her brother Burl and wife Ida of Ponca City, Oklahoma; her son Joel and wife Jeanne of Ithaca; her son Stephen and wife Catherine or Long Island; her daughter Cathy and granddaughter Julia of Denver; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grand nieces and nephews living in Iowa, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas, and California.
On Friday, February 10, 2012, at 2 pm, she will be interred at Greensprings Natural Cemetery in Newfield, embraced by the earth she loved.
