Laurie H. Johnson, 52, of West Danby, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Hospicare Residence with her loving family by her side. Born January 7, 1963 in Port Washington, she was a daughter of Patricia Hanan and the late Thomas Hanan.

Laurie graduated from Long Island University in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology. She worked for Cornell University for her entire working career. Laurie loved sailing, antiquing, and being with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Patricia Hanan of Newfield, Laurie is survived by her husband; Mark O. Johnson of West Danby; children, Benjamin and Anna Johnson both of West Danby; sister, Kathleen Hanan of Florida; and brother, Jeffrey Hanan of Newfield.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, at the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. The family is being assisted by the Lansing Funeral Home.
