Lauren Victoria Lilley

Lauren Victoria Lilley (Grover) of Lansing, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the age of 34 after a long battle with mental illness and addiction.  Lauren was fascinated by science, the human body and the mind and dreamed of someday becoming a psychiatrist or a funeral director.  After earning an Associate's degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College, Lauren worked as a registered nurse for many years.  She was beautiful, brilliant, funny, fiercely loyal, protective and deeply pensive.  She believed in loving people unconditionally and provided that love generously. Lauren was the very essence of unique and wholly unforgettable.

Lauren was the daughter of Bonnie Moffett and the late William Fletcher Grover.  Lauren is survived by three wonderful, smart and joyful children: Julian (16) with her first husband, Stephen VanBuren, and Phoenix (7) and Felix (5) with her second husband, Todd Lilley.  Her children meant everything to her and she parented with honesty and never ending adoration.

Lauren is also survived by her siblings, Miles Grover and Sarah Huff (Neal); her niece, Svetlana Grover; her grandparents, Gerald and Arlene Caward and William and Helenrae Grover; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and an enormous extended family who always rooted for her recovery.  She will be sorely missed and thought of often by all those who knew her.
