Jason J. Seymour, 40, of Ithaca, NY, originally from the Wausau, WI area, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home. He was born February 15, 1977 in Wausau.Jason was a thoughtful, giving, silly, brilliant, and passionate person. He worked as a Systems Analyst at Cornell University for 13 years. As a teenager he was an advocate for LGBT youth and impacted the lives of many young people. After moving to Ithaca, he was a lead plaintiff in the Ithaca 50 marriage equality lawsuit.Jason is survived by his parents Cynthia and Wayne Slagoski of Weston, WI; his ever loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Jason Hungerford; and his brother Josh Slagoski of Thorp, WI. Jason was âBig Daddyâ to his chosen Ithaca Family which includes Margot Chiuten, Shawna Black, and their children Graem, Emmy, and Keane Chiuten-Black. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a grandmother, a nephew, and many friends. Jason was preceded in death by Rachel, his blue and gold macaw.Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 8 at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 9 at Lansing Funeral Home, with a small lunch reception to follow at Crossroads Bar & Grille.
