Jason J. Seymour, 40, of Ithaca, NY, originally from the Wausau, WI area, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home. He was born February 15, 1977 in Wausau.Jason was a thoughtful, giving, silly, brilliant, and passionate person. He worked as a Systems Analyst at Cornell University for 13 years. As a teenager he was an advocate for LGBT youth and impacted the lives of many young people. After moving to Ithaca, he was a lead plaintiff in the Ithaca 50 marriage equality lawsuit.Jason is survived by his parents Cynthia and Wayne Slagoski of Weston, WI; his ever loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Jason Hungerford; and his brother Josh Slagoski of Thorp, WI. Jason was “Big Daddy†to his chosen Ithaca Family which includes Margot Chiuten, Shawna Black, and their children Graem, Emmy, and Keane Chiuten-Black. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a grandmother, a nephew, and many friends. Jason was preceded in death by Rachel, his blue and gold macaw.Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 8 at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 9 at Lansing Funeral Home, with a small lunch reception to follow at Crossroads Bar & Grille.
