James Kastenhuber

James L. “Jimmy” Kastenhuber, passed away February 22, 2013, at Cayuga Medical Center at the age of 60.

Born in Ithaca, NY, on July 7, 1952, he was a son of the late Russell and Carolyn (Snyder) Kastenhuber. A graduate of Ithaca High School, Jimmy was gifted with mechanical ability. He formerly owned Jim’s Auto on Dryden Rd, and was most recently employed at Cornell Plantations. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1253. Jimmy enjoyed hunting in his younger years, was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved to tinker in his shop. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren and the quiet times spent at his cottage in Maine.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Debra Groat Kastenhuber; children, Paul Lucas (Heather) of Canandaigua, Julie Lucas of Lansing; grandchildren, Grace and Matthew Lucas of Canandaigua and Kiara Love, Mia and Reese Husch of Lansing; two sisters; four brothers; mother-in-law, Lorraine Groat (Gaylord Besemer), nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family.

Family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 5 – 8pm, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.
