Lowell George Howell, Jr. died July 8, 2011, at Cayuga Ridge, Ithaca, NY.
Born October 5, 1932 in Olean, NY, George served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent over 50 years managing and serving as a projectionist in Buffalo and Ithaca, NY. George spent over 40 of those years in Ithaca as manager and projectionist at The Strand, The Ithaca, and the State Theatres.
The last few years of Georgeâs life were spent at Cayuga Ridge, where he quickly became a favorite of the staff. His Cayuga Ridge family often remarked that Georgeâs smile would light up the room.
George was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Stuchel, as well as his wife and unborn child.
He leaves behind many friends and his precious kitty, Lobo.
In keeping with Georgeâs wishes, no services will be scheduled. Interment, next to his mother in Rixford Center, PA, will take place at a later date.
