Eugene F. Doe, 88, passed away peacefully at the Hospicare residence on August 13, 2015.

Born December 3, 1926 in Ithaca, Gene was the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary Weeks Doe. After graduating from Ithaca High School in 1945, Gene proudly served with the US Army. Upon his return home, Gene began his tailoring career where he continued his labor of love for decades. He was still sewing as recent as a few weeks ago. Gene sewed for numerous local families and businessmen and forged close friendships with many of his customers. He also served many years as a volunteer with the Lansing Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Doe.

Survivors include his close cousins, Sharon Campbell (Dale) of Lansing, Gary Argetsinger (Karen) of Lansing and Gale Stockton (Neil) of PA. Many other cousins also survive Gene.

Family will be present to receive friends from 12-1pm, Thursday, August 20th, followed by a funeral service at 1pm, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca.
