Douglas D. Morgan

Douglas Morgan, 68, of West Danby, NY, passed away on October 10, 2022.  Born in Ithaca, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Lyle Morgan and Geraldine Adams Poyer.  From a very early age, Doug had a love of trucking which began when he rode with his grandfather.  He owned and operated his own trucking company, Doug Morgan Trucking, based in West Danby.

Doug loved and lived life to the fullest.  He adored his family with all his heart, including his wife, Susan (Axtell) Morgan, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.  Doug loved riding his motorcycle and playing with his grandsons.  For the last few years, he and Sue traveled full-time in their “Rig”—his smaller version of a big truck—their camper-coach.  They traveled around seeing the sights they were never able to when driving truck together.  Doug will be missed for his joking manner by everyone.

In addition to his loving wife, Susan Morgan, Doug is survived by his daughter, Becki Sue Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sarah Morgan; grandsons, Christopher, Ryan and Alex Morgan; beloved pup, Freddie; sisters, Gloria (Mel) Westmiller and Holly (Fred) McAndrews Barnett; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Rebecca Adams.

In keeping with Doug’s wishes, there will be no public memorial services.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Doug’s name to the Lansing Rescue, Hospicare, or the SPCA.
