Dorothy M. Happel

Dorothy M. Happel, of 1819 East Shore Dr., passed away on February 5, 2012, at the age of 77.

Born, August 10, 1934 in Fayette, NY, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence McBride and Ruth (Edward) Ireland Donnelly.

Dot’s greatest pleasure in life was her family. She was a beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Sister who will be dearly missed. She also enjoyed computer games, shopping, flower gardening, sitting on the deck near the pool, and traveling, especially to visit her friend, Mary Jane Gravel, in Massachusetts and to Rhode Island.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Happel; an infant son, Walter Joseph Happel, III; and a son, Walter “Butch” Happel.

She is survived by her children; Teresa (Rodney) Williams of Newfield, Deborah (Mike Ayers) Happel of Lansing, Steven (Trudy Glendening) Happel of Brooktondale; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren, with another expected in July; her sisters, MaryLou Cleveland of Brooktondale, Frances Falardeau of Brooktondale, Joyce Gustafson of Ithaca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Dot’s wishes, no public services are scheduled.
