Deborah T. Meeker

Deborah T. Meeker, age 69, passed away in the presence of family on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Born March 24, 1947, in Pennsylvania, Deb was a daughter of the late Arthur Thomas and Jean Thomas Bausman. 

In addition to her parents, Deb was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Thomas Jr., and sister, Rebecca Allsbrooks.

She is survived by her partner, Sue Ferrell of Newfield; her sons, Michael Masters (Tara), and their children, Jack and Drew, of Trumansburg, Patrick Masters and his daughters, Makenzie and Charlotte, also of Trumansburg; and a niece, Susan Haynes of TX.

The love Deb had for her four grandchildren was evident in every conversation and moment spent together, attendance at their many activities and thoughtful gifts she shared with them throughout their lives.  Her ability to share wisdom in a way that the kids could understand has helped formed who they are today.

Deb started and was the sole proprietor of Solo Electronics, a successful electronics assembly company for 35 years, 1980-2015. Her high standard of quality and attention to detail enabled her to support her loyal customers for many years.  

More recently Deb put her deep rooted concern for others and her community to work by continuing to read and learn about many causes, both political and not, and share her thoughts through many conversations with her friends and family.  Some may call her a political antagonist, particularly towards one congressman “he who shall not be named”. 

Deb loved all animals.  She and Sue took in and loved many cats along with caring for any animal that happened by their home.  Their birdhouses feed an amazing variety of birds including more blue jays than one could imagine.

Family will receive friends from 4 -7pm, Thursday, March 9th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.  Private interment at Ovid Union Cemetery, will be at a later date.
