Barbara J. Ellis

Barbara Jean Ellis, 89, formerly of Lansing, NY, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on January 26, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL. Born in Augusta, GA, on June 23, 1935, Barb was the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Clark) Williamson. 

After leaving Augusta and spending time in Charleston, SC, Barb came to New York in her high school years where she met and went on to marry Charles E. Ellis, Sr. of Lansing. Together, they raised two sons: Charles E. Ellis, Jr. and Johnnie C. Ellis. 

Barb was a chef at Lansing Girls School and a talented artist in the field of ceramics. She was an active and faithful communicant of Asbury Church in Lansing prior to moving to Florida.

Barb is survived by her loving husband Charles E. Ellis, Sr., son Charles E. Ellis, Jr., and grandchildren, Johnnie C. Ellis, Sr. and Brandy Lynn Ellis. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie C. Ellis, in 1984, and her brother, Eddie Turner, in 1995.
