Ann Marie Listar of Lansing passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on December 10, 2017 at the age of 91.

Born January 6, 1926, in Wilkes Barre, PA, Ann was the daughter of the late Leo and Claire Gilroy O’Branski. At the age of 10, Ann and her family moved to Tompkins County, where she attended school and graduated from Ludlowville High School. In 1945, she met James Listar, and after a 6 month courtship, they were married and settled in the Lansing area. Ann was employed in many capacities over the years, but is best known for her ownership of over 20 years of Ann Marie Fashions, a bridal and women’s apparel boutique in Lansing. Ann took great pride and pleasure in helping brides find their perfect dress. Ann is survived by her daughter, Bonita Ann Lucas (Wayne) of Ithaca; granddaughters, Lynn VandePoel (Roger) of Lansing, Devon Lucas (Charles Nichols) of Arnold, MD; great grandchildren, Kyle VandePoel (Heather Masters) of Auburn and Cole VandePoel of Lansing; sister-in-law, Margaret Listar of Lansing; and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James; and a brother and sister-in-law, Leon J. and Patricia Grady O’Blanski. Memorial contributions in Ann Marie’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central NY, 441 W. Kilpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204-1361 or www.alz.org.A graveside service, officiated by Fr. Augustine Chumo, will be held on Monday, December 18th, at 1:30pm, Calvary Cemetery, 636 Five Mile Dr., Ithaca, NY. Lansing Funeral Home is assisting the family.
