Albert L. LaBar

Albert L. LaBar, age 92, of Lansing, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015, at the Hospicare Residence.

Born October 10, 1923 in Ithaca, Al was the son of the late Albert and Cora May Pulleyn LaBar.  After graduating Ithaca High School in 1940, Al went to work at Cornell University where he spent his entire career in the Animal Husbandry Department, retiring in 1978 after 38 years of dedicated service.  Family was important to Al.  He especially enjoyed family picnics, camping, reading and he was an avid woodworker. 

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty J. LaBar, who passed away in October, 2015.

He is survived by his children, Keith LaBar (Jacqueline) of Trumansburg, Dean LaBar (Helen) of PA, Donna Perry (Richard) of KY; grandchildren, Shelley (Jeff), Seth, Shalina, Scott (Eun-Kyung), Christine (Phil), Daniel, Elizabeth, Richard Jr. (Amy), Michael (Kristen), Brian; ten great grandchildren;  sisters, Virginia Gould and Winifred Pulleyn; and a large extended family.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Lansing United Methodist Church.     

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Jane Sautter, will be held at 11 am, Monday, December 7, 2015 at Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Rd., Lansing, NY.  Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ithaca.  Lansing Funeral Home is assisting the family.
