Cooper, Albert F., age 74, born in Ithaca, NY, on  April 26, 1943, died peacefully at home with his wife Barbara and son Brian by his side on May 23rd, 2017. Al liked to travel between Freeville, NY and Colorado Springs, CO in his younger years. He had a love for classic cars and western movies. Al worked for Smith Corona for 17 years and then Cornell University for about 17 years until his retirement in 1999. He was fiercely protective of his family. He is survived by his wife Barbara J. (Burns) Cooper; siblings Mabel (Jewett) Tarbox, George Cooper, Clara (Phil) Allen, John (Edith) Cooper, Pete (Cindy) Cooper; sister in law Dora Cooper; sons Brian, Jack (Victoria) and Thomas (Jennifer) Cooper; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew Mihalko III) Brown, Dannielle (Kaitlin Younes) Cooper, Ashli (Benjamin Wilson) Carlton, Nicholas Cooper; great grandson Andrew Mihalko IV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents John and Florence (nee Hamilton) Cooper; siblings Jesse, Frank and Birl Cooper. In accordance with Al’s wishes there will be no public services. His ashes will be spread in the mountains of Arizona with his brother Frank at the convenience of the family.
