Helen A. Morey passed away March 17, 2016.  She was born on October 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to Dr. Charles A. Anderson and Gertrude Anderson.  She grew up in Tennessee after her father was named president of Tusculum College.  She received her BA degree from Wells College and her MSW from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work.

She was employed in Clinical Social Work at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.  She married Dave Morey in Swarthmore, PA in 1956.  They moved to Morris County, NJ where she worked for the Family Service of Morris County and in private practice.  After retiring, they moved to Kendal at Ithaca, not far from her beloved Wells College.  Her interests included all aspects of social welfare, making lapidary jewelry, singing, vacations in Maine and her friends at Kendal.

Helen was predeceased by her two sisters: Dr. Margaret Anderson and Ruth Lusky.  She is survived by Dave, her husband of 60 years; David Morey, Jr.; daughter Jean ((Ivan) Bader and by two grandchildren: Sean Bader and Ian Bader.  Gifts in Helen's memory can be made to Wells College, 170 Main St., Aurora, NY 13026.

A service commemorating her life is planned at Kendal for April 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
