Ollene L. Crandall
King Ferry
Ollene L. Crandall of
Born
Adamant about her independence, she maintained her own home until her final day. A petite lady with a twinkle in her eye and a wonderful sense of style, she gave herself unselfishly to her family and offered continuous love and guidance that will be dearly missed. As best said by her first grandson Rich Welch, “She had the tiniest feet, but leaves the largest shoes to fill.”
In addition to her parents and husband, Ollene was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Crandall (Richard) Welch, her brother James Ellsworth Cary, and her sisters, Doris Sweazey and Esther Frandell.
Ollene is survived by her sons; Gerald (Phyllis) Crandall of Columbus, OH, James (Cu) Crandall III of Sarasota, FL, Jeffrey (Janet) Crandall of Seattle, WA, and Stephen (Sheryl) Crandall of Sackets Harbor, NY; 12 grandchildren including Rich Welch (Doris) of Groton, Pamela (Rodney) Parlett of King Ferry, Patricia (Robert) Bancroft of Ledyard, Amy (Mike) Yeazel of Cincinnati; Timothy (Lauren) Crandall of Minneapolis, Anthony (Angela) Crandall of Gahanna, OH; James (Phyllis) Crandall of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, Julie (Stacey) Smith of Vancouver, WA; Jonathan (Bectoria) Crandall of Avon Lake, OH; Nathan (Jessica) Crandall of Parker, CO, Alicia (Brian) Lowes of Dayton, OH, and Justin Crandall of Sackets Harbor, NY. The joy of her later years was her 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
